The RAM Caddis was developed by the late Ross A. Marigold and was tied specifically for the Madison river. As many of us already know it works in any river where caddis are present. For a time, the RAM Caddis seemed like a forgotten pattern by many, and when we have been asked about it in the shop folks seemed almost surprised that we still carry it. This pattern has, over the years, been one of our guides' go-to flies on the Madison during late June and the entire month of July, as well as the Firehole and Yellowstone rivers.
