The Blew on Blue first came about due to a conversation at the shop regarding fly color, specifically how effective the color purple can be in trout flies. We wondered aloud if blue might be just as effective, and so Aaron and Bucky set about designing a fly to find out. The Blew on Blue you see here is the result, and the answer to the question is that blue is definitely effective! This fly has been right up there with the Shakey Beeley over the last five seasons as one of our most effective patterns for fall swinging, and we've had a lot of success swinging it on the Firehole, too.
