The White Miller Soft Hackle is a must-have for fishing the Firehole. Firehole fish have a well-documented affinity for swinging flies, and since the White Miller has taken over as the dominant caddis hatch on the river over the last decade or so, this pattern has become all the more important. Swinging is certainly our method of choice for fishing this fly, but we've also had success dead-drifting it to rising fish that won't take a bushier dry.
