Sunken Stone

Nick Nicklas's classic pattern is still our favorite when fishing emergences of big stones like salmonflies and goldens. While Nick originally fished this fly subsurface to imitate drowned stoneflies, we've found it to be the ultimate dry pattern for matching big bugs, as it rides low on the surface much like a natural. When treated with floatant it requires little maintenance to stay afloat all day, making it an even bigger winner in our book.
