HD means heavy duty, and this full-cage version of the popular Speedster S delivers on that promise. The full-cage prevents very thin mono running lines and backing from sliding through gaps in standard frame designs, making it the perfect choice for the hardcore spey or saltwater angler. The reel is otherwise identical to the original Speedster S, with Lamson's precision aluminum machining and conical drag system.
The -7+ is designed to fit single-hand line weights 6, 7, and 8, and holds about 180 yards of 20 pound dacron backing with a WF8F line. We really like for trout spey rods in 3 and 4 weights.
