The Snowshoe Caddis floats high and is easy to see, both valuable traits in a dry fly, especially for rough and tumble water like the Madison and Gallatin. It's also a good pattern for mimicking the White Miller caddis on the Firehole, as the bushy white snowshoe hare wing provides a similar silhouette to the natural insects, which sport an oversized wing compared to the size of their bodies.
