Bucky likes to spend most evenings dialing in his spey casts, and so most of his fishing is done swinging flies. One of his most productive patterns throughout the summer is this simple little soft hackle, which seems to imitate both Hydropsyche and Brachycentrus caddis pupa quite well. It is a rare summer evening that this fly doesn't produce at least a few grabs leading up to the nightly Madison caddis emergence, and it’s a great pattern for swinging on the Firehole in both spring and fall also.
