From the time we introduced our famous Sparkle Dun series of dry flies we’ve commented on how important it is to have the right deer hair to tie the flies. “If you don’t have the proper deer you cannot tie the fly”. Each fall we wade through hundreds of deer hides in hide houses to find a few that meet our stringent criteria. Ours is short tipped, hollow and will flare easily and compress to avoid bulk. At this time we only have Sparkle Dun hair for flies #16 and larger.
