Streamer fishing continues to grow in popularity year after year, and for good reason. Many anglers owe the biggest fish of their lives to big, ugly flies, and the feel of a monster brown crushing a streamer is simply unforgettable. The downside, however, is that these flies often take all day to tie, and the sheer amount of material on the hook tends to make them harder to cast than a wet sock.
We've developed the Prospector to address these two problems, with a simple design that is reasonably quick to tie, and a minimal amount of material to keep the fly light and easy to cast. This fly still offers enough of a bulky, flashy profile to attract a big fish, but without the complicated design of other patterns. The brown and yellow combination is particularly effective during the fall, while the olive and white color makes a great searching pattern all year long.
