Madison River Fly Fishing with Trust for Public Land

Join Blue Ribbon Flies and TPL for this exciting trip in the Madison Valley

Anglers from around the world make a pilgrimage to Montana to experience

blue-ribbon trout fishing amid unparalleled natural beauty.

During this five day fly fishing adventure on the Madison River, hone your angling skills while learning about TPL’s important conservation work in Montana, where TPL is working with ranching families to secure miles of uninterrupted fishing access. TPL president Will Rogers will give a first hand look at how conservation easements and the purchase of private development rights have safeguarded trout habitat in river valleys that are increasingly under pressure from population growth.

Through the expert tutelage of fly fishing maven Craig Mathews, author of Fly Fishing the Madison, this journey feeds the appetites of both seasoned anglers and beginners. Craig, co-owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, logs more than 100 fishing days on the Madison every summer, and was named Fly Rod & Reel Magazine Angler of the Year in 2005.

The birthplace of wild trout management, the upper Madison is also the place where “catch and release" regulations were first adopted. Thanks to these groundbreaking efforts, the river contains one of the healthiest and most robust trout fisheries in the American West.
