The Trust for Public Land in Montana

www.tpl.org/montana

The Trust for Public Land is the only national nonprofit working exclusively to conserve land for people to enjoy and to improve the quality of life in our communities.  TPL’s expertise is helping communities identify and protect the lands that are important to them and arranging innovative conservation transactions to achieve those goals.

With generous support from people like you, The Trust for Public Land has protected more than 170,000 acres of land in Montana for wildlife, sportsmen and the recreating public.  This includes some 220 miles of trout-laden rivers and streams, which are now permanently accessible to the angling public.

With the support of Blue Ribbon Flies, The Trust for Public Land last year purchased an important conservation easement along the Madison River - protecting a key part of one of the most important wildlife corridors leading to and from Yellowstone National Park, as well as providing permanent walk-in access to a coveted 1.25-mile stretch of the famous Madison River where float fishing is not allowed.  It is easily reached from the Three Dollar Bridge and Raynolds Pass fishing access sites on either side.  Thanks to TPL’s efforts and all of the conservation work that has been done by Blue Ribbon Flies and so many other conservation groups and supporters over the years, anglers can now wander a full four miles in search of browns and rainbows averaging more than a foot in length.

Please join TPL and Blue Ribbon Flies this summer at our Madison River celebration, July 7, 2006 at the Three Dollar Bridge site.  (For more information or to RSVP, contact Deb.Love@tpl.org.)
